Description

Our vision is to be an innovative provider of quality homes and services, with residents and staff at the heart of Ocean, and Ocean at the heart of the community.

We put residents at the centre of everything we do, aiming to provide quality services, right first time. Since our establishment in 2000, we are proud to have invested over £200 million in the county through community involvement, property development, jobs and apprenticeships. Committed to making a real contribution to Cornwall’s housing shortage, we have over 4,500 homes and ambitious group plans to deliver 1,000 new, energy-efficient homes by 2030.

We’re seeking a Chair of the Group Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee (GARAC) to join our talented team of non-executives.

This critical role requires a strong understanding of governance, strategic thinking, and risk management. The Chair of GARAC will ensure the highest standards of governance across the Group, overseeing risk management frameworks, financial accountability, regulatory compliance, and corporate strategy delivery. A collaborative mindset, ethical leadership and commitment to our ‘One Ocean’ values are essential.

Whilst previous committee chairing experience is not necessary, prior Non-Executive Director experience, familiarity with audit, risk and assurance best practices, and an ability to lead in a heavily regulated environment will be important. A background in strategic financial planning, governance, and risk management is highly desirable.

Ocean is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity and belonging, ensuring diverse perspectives and lived experiences shape our decisions. If you have specific requirements for the recruitment process, please let us know — we’re happy to be flexible.
